MANILA — Rain showers and thunderstorms are expected to affect several parts of the Philippines today and tomorrow as unsettled weather continues nationwide.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Friday may start with periods of sunshine in some areas before clouds build up, bringing occasional rain and thunderstorms in the afternoon.
Similar conditions are forecast Saturday, with mostly cloudy skies and possible thunderstorms in the morning, followed by additional rain showers in the afternoon.
The weather will remain generally warm, with daytime temperatures reaching around 29 to 30 degrees Celsius in many lowland areas.
PAGASA said localized thunderstorms may produce sudden heavy rain, strong winds and lightning. These conditions could also trigger flooding in low-lying areas and make roads slippery, particularly during periods of intense rainfall.
The agency advised motorists and commuters to exercise caution and allow additional travel time, especially in areas experiencing heavy rain.
Those planning outdoor activities are likewise urged to monitor the latest weather bulletins and rainfall advisories from PAGASA.
Residents in flood-prone and landslide-prone communities should remain alert and follow instructions from local disaster-response authorities whenever severe weather develops.
