MANILA — The weather is taking a wet turn as the former Tropical Storm “Basyang,” now a Low Pressure Area (LPA), continues to affect parts of Luzon and Visayas, PAGASA reported Friday.

As of 3 a.m., the LPA was spotted 130 km southeast of Cuyo, Palawan, bringing cloudy skies, scattered rains, and thunderstorms in many areas. Moderate to heavy rainfall may trigger flash floods and landslides, authorities warned.

Key Weather Alerts:

Western Visayas, Negros, MIMAROPA: Scattered thunderstorms; flood and landslide risks.

Metro Manila, CALABARZON, Bicol, Aurora, Northern & Eastern Samar: Isolated thunderstorms; potential flash floods.

Northern Luzon (Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Apayao): Rainy with strong northeast winds; landslide-prone areas on alert.

Other regions: Mostly cloudy with isolated showers; localized flooding possible.

Winds & Coastal Alerts: Moderate to strong winds with rough seas reported in northern and eastern coastal areas.

PAGASA urges residents to stay alert, especially in low-lying and landslide-prone areas, as heavy rainfall continues through the weekend.
