MANILA — Scattered rains are expected to prevail over much of the Philippines as multiple weather systems influence conditions nationwide, the weather bureau said Monday.

Areas affected by the shear line—including Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, and Northern Samar—are likely to experience intermittent rains and isolated thunderstorms. The same pattern is expected across Mindanao and Eastern Visayas due to easterlies.

Authorities cautioned that periods of moderate to heavy rainfall could lead to flooding or landslides, particularly in vulnerable communities.

Light rains are forecast over Quezon province and the rest of the Bicol Region as the northeast monsoon continues to affect Luzon, while isolated light showers may occur in other Luzon areas.

Isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are also expected over Palawan and the rest of the Visayas.

Forecasts show moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas over Luzon and eastern Visayas. In other regions, winds will remain generally light to moderate, with slight to moderate sea conditions.

The weather bureau said no low-pressure area is currently being tracked for possible cyclone formation. /ia
