MANILA – Warm, humid weather combined with isolated rain showers will continue to affect most parts of the Philippines on Thursday, the state weather bureau said.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) confirmed that no low pressure area is currently being monitored for possible tropical cyclone development, weather specialist Leanne Loreto said.

The southwest monsoon or habagat remains active over the western section of northern Luzon, bringing scattered rains and thunderstorms to the Ilocos Region, Batanes, and Babuyan Islands. PAGASA warned that moderate to heavy rainfall in these areas could lead to flash floods or landslides.

The rest of the country may expect isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by localized weather conditions.

Temperatures may peak at 35°C in Tuguegarao City, while Metro Manila and Legazpi City are expected to reach up to 34°C.

Northern Luzon will experience moderate winds and seas, while other regions will have generally light to moderate winds and slight to moderate sea conditions, PAGASA said.
