MANILA – Weather systems affecting the Philippines will remain unchanged on Christmas Eve, with the northeast monsoon (amihan) and the easterlies continuing to bring varying weather conditions, PAGASA reported Wednesday.

Based on the agency’s early morning forecast, cloudy skies with light rainfall are expected over Cagayan, Isabela, and Aurora due to the northeast monsoon.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains are also forecast over the Ilocos Region, the Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Cagayan Valley, and Central Luzon.

PAGASA said the easterlies will result in cloudy conditions with scattered rains and thunderstorms across the Bicol Region and Quezon province.

Metro Manila and other parts of the country may experience isolated rain showers or thunderstorms amid generally partly cloudy to cloudy skies.

Sea travel may be risky in several areas, as moderate to strong northeast winds and moderate to rough seas are expected over Northern Luzon, Central Luzon, and eastern Southern Luzon. Elsewhere, winds will remain light to moderate, with slight to moderate sea conditions.
