TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol — The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) has expanded critical healthcare support in Bohol by donating 12 mechanical ventilators to five government hospitals across the province.
The ventilators were distributed on Friday (March 20) under PCSO’s Medical Equipment Donation Program (MEDP) to Garcia Memorial Provincial Hospital in Talibon, Teodoro B. Galagar District Hospital in Jagna, Cong. Simeon G. Toribio Memorial Hospital in Carmen, Catigbian District Hospital, and Francisco Dagohoy Memorial Hospital in Inabanga.
Six ventilators were allocated to Garcia Memorial Provincial Hospital, three units to Teodoro B. Galagar District Hospital, and one unit each to the hospitals in Carmen, Catigbian, and Inabanga.
PCSO General Manager Mel Robles said the donation reflects the government’s continuing efforts to improve healthcare access in the provinces.
“Padala po ito ni President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.,” Robles said during the turnover ceremony, emphasizing the administration’s goal of bringing government services closer to the people.
Robles also stressed that healthcare assistance should remain free from political considerations.
Bohol Governor Aris Aumentado welcomed the initiative, saying the additional ventilators will help hospitals respond more effectively to medical emergencies and strengthen the province’s health system.
He noted that the equipment would also enhance Bohol’s preparedness for future health crises, building on lessons learned during the pandemic.
Aside from the ventilators, PCSO also handed over a check worth ₱277,940.92 representing the province’s share in lotto revenues for July to December 2025.
