MANILA – Warm and humid weather will continue nationwide as easterlies prevail, the Philippine weather bureau announced on Wednesday.
PAGASA weather specialist Chenel Dominguez said conditions will remain mostly fair, though the heat will be more intense in the afternoon.
She also said isolated rain showers or thunderstorms may develop in some areas, especially during the late afternoon or evening.
Tuguegarao is expected to record temperatures up to 36°C, while Metro Manila, Davao, and Zamboanga may reach 34°C.
The heat index could peak at 42°C in Aparri, Cagayan, and range from 37°C to 38°C in parts of Metro Manila.
Dominguez advised the public to take precautions against heat-related illnesses by limiting outdoor exposure, drinking enough water, and wearing light-colored clothes.
At present, no low-pressure system is being monitored for cyclone development.
Moderate winds and sea conditions will continue in the eastern sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, while the rest of the country will experience milder conditions.
