MANILA – Fair and warm weather conditions are expected to dominate much of the Philippines on Thursday, although isolated thunderstorms may still develop and bring sudden heavy rains, the state weather bureau said.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that the easterlies continue to affect Luzon and the Visayas, bringing partly cloudy to cloudy skies over Metro Manila and nearby regions.

While most areas are likely to experience sunny and humid conditions throughout the day, isolated rain showers and thunderstorms may occur, especially during the afternoon and evening hours.

In Mindanao, localized thunderstorms remain the primary weather system, resulting in similar weather conditions with occasional rain showers.

PAGASA warned residents in flood-prone and landslide-susceptible areas to stay alert during thunderstorms, as intense rainfall could trigger flash floods, soil erosion, and other weather-related hazards.

Coastal waters across the archipelago will remain slight to moderate, with light to moderate winds prevailing from the east, northeast, and southeast directions.

The weather bureau added that the sun rose at 5:27 a.m. and is expected to set at 6:18 p.m.
